1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using RunYa ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

RunYa provides an AI-powered running coaching platform designed for women aged 40 and over. The Service includes personalised training plans, daily check-ins, coaching insights, and educational content.

RunYa is a coaching and wellness tool only. It is not a medical device, clinical service, or healthcare provider. Nothing within the app constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any new exercise programme, especially if you have an existing health condition, injury, or are post-surgery.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use RunYa. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@runya.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the platform's systems or AI models.
  • Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
  • Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service.
  • Share your account with others or create multiple accounts.

6. Health and safety disclaimer

Physical exercise carries inherent risk. By using RunYa you acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for assessing your own physical fitness before undertaking any training session.
  • RunYa's AI coaching recommendations are based on the information you provide and are not a substitute for professional medical advice.
  • You should stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, dizziness, severe shortness of breath, or any unusual pain.
  • RunYa accepts no liability for injury, illness, or other harm arising from following training plans or recommendations within the app.

7. Intellectual property

All content, software, and AI systems within RunYa are owned by or licensed to RunYa and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of your data — including Special Category health data — is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RunYa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to physical injury, loss of data, or loss of earnings.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £50 if you have not paid anything).

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance via in-app notice or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
